How To Help2018-05-12T19:40:10+00:00

Help us meet the greatest needs for local neighbors impacted by disasters with key supplies and emotional and spiritual assistance by donating or volunteering now.

Pu’uhonua o Puna was founded as a place of refuge and comfort for those displaced by the May 2018 lava eruptions. Our volunteer hui has set up an info and supply hub in Pāhoa to help those affected. Efforts are 100% community driven and funded.

The Red Cross is a non-profit humanitarian organization which provides assistance to meet the immediate emergency needs of those affected by disasters. All Red Cross assistance to disaster victims is free.

To donate by text message, text REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief, which helps people affected by disasters such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, wildfires and tornadoes.

The Food Basket is accepting donations of water, food, supplies and money for the people in Puna affected by the recent volcanic activity. You can donate directly to the Lava Flow Evacuees Aid Fund, the Good Food For Everyone Fund (Da Box, Da Bus, and Da Bux programs), or host a food or fund drive.

In response to the 1,700 people forced out of their homes by the eruption in the Leilani Estates subdivision, Child & Family Service is offering the following emergency response services to displaced residents: counseling for families, temporary housing, transportation, and other basic needs like food, clothing, and more.

A number of independent fundraisers have been set up using the GoFundMe platform, which has set up a special collection of verified campaigns for those affected by the Kilauea eruption.
